What We Are Looking For

We desire a Technology Consultant that will work as a member of our Technical Operations Team.  He/she will be responsible for high level technology consulting and support to meet the demands and expectations of our client base. The Technology Consultant will work with a team of engineers responsible for the daily support and maintenance of SSI clients’ technology infrastructures. Client technology infrastructures can range from simple to complex on premise installations as well as SSI’s own Cloud based multi-tenant environment. Daily responsibilities may include technology infrastructure design/augmentation, review of support incidents, server troubleshooting, hardware/software installation and upgrades, new infrastructure build outs and relocations, as well as high level ticket escalation. The Technical Consultant will also provide technical mentoring of engineers and ensure they are following SSI’s best practices and standards.

What You Will Be Doing

CUSTOMER TECHNICAL SATISFACTION

  • Responsible for the build-out, support, documentation, on-going maintenance and upgrades of the entire client infrastructure(s) including on premise and cloud-based solutions
  • Coordinate with Project Management team and acts as the technical point of contact for new and existing client projects
  • Manage Client Site and Cloud Technology
  • Act as technical escalation resource for System Engineers
  • Identify areas to improve clients’ technical environments and to partner with Account Managers to make recommendations to the clients
  • Review and contribute to improving new processes, procedures or new product rollouts
  • Support and maintenance areas include, but are not limited to, Active Directory, Exchange, Citrix, XenApp/Server/Desktop, DUO, as well as Cisco switches, Cisco firewalls, SAN & NAS technologies, VMWare, Hyper-V
  • Responsible for IT Glue accuracy including warranty and license expirations

SSI TEAMWORK

  • Leverage and coordinate with peers and inter-departmental resources to achieve similar goals
  • Participate in developing and maintaining SSI Standards
  • Partner with Account Managers on client quarterly business reviews
  • Participate in organizational technology meetings with peers and other technology groups

TEAM MENTORING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Participate with Service Deliver Manager (SDM) on interviews and provide assessments on potential candidates
  • Provide input to the SDM on setting short term and long-term goals of System Engineers
  • Assist with professional development of System Engineers, in both the technical and non-technical competencies
  • Provide feedback to Service Delivery Manager for performance discussions with System Engineers

What You Need for the Position:

  • Inherent ability to leverage effective listening and build professional relationships with SSI customers
  • Experience with building and maintaining executive-level relationships
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written) to effectively articulate 1) technology solutions to our customers and 2) customers’ needs to internal team members
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver multiple projects and initiatives in a timely manner
  • College diploma or University degree in the field of Computer Science or equivalent field and/or related experience with a minimum of 2 – 3 years of end user support
  • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019, Active Directory and Exchange 2010/2013/2016
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005-2019
  • Familiarity with hosted, cloud-based architectures, and emerging technologies across all landscapes
  • Citrix Metaframe 4.5 through XenApp 7.15 LTSR knowledge
  • Knowledge of Enterprise and Hosted Spam filtering technologies
  • Strong Understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing, Switching and Firewalls
  • Experience in deploying Enterprise-level networks with Cisco ASA firewalls, and Catalyst switches
  • Knowledge of Dell PowerEdge and HP Proliant server configuration and deployment
  • Experience in Data Backup and Recovery with Symantec Backup Exec, Veeam, Avamar, Datto or similar enterprise backup software
  • Knowledge of Symantec Antivirus, Webroot or similar Enterprise Antivirus software
  • Legal, Government, Healthcare or Financial Industry Experience including familiarity with market vendor applications
  • Some experience with Linux or Solaris
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, VB, Batch, WSH)
  • Familiarity with Storage Area Networks (Netapp, EqualLogic, EMC) and Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, XenServer)
  • Familiarity with industry standard security services and hardware
  • Ability to work outside of standard business hours
  • Full-time employment, exempt role
  • Must have authorization to work lawfully in the United States
